Andy Dymott (Dutch Andy)
Driving Instructor - Harrogate & Knaresborough
My name is Andy but most people know me as ‘Dutch’ or ‘Dutch Andy’ because I spent over 20 years living and working in the Netherlands where I also learned to speak fluent Dutch.
I have been employed in the transport and logistics industry for over 35 years (broken occasionally with work in other sectors) and have gained experience on the roads throughout Europe and UK. I would estimate to have driven over 2 million miles during that time.
I acquired my HGV licences at 17 years of age whilst serving with the armed forces. I have experience delivering instruction on heavy articulated vehicles, Mechanical Handling Equipment. (Forklifts and Lorry mounted crane) CPC courses for Heavy goods drivers and National Standard Cycling courses for all age groups.
I am passionate about road safety and hope to pass on positive knowledge based on my experience. I hope that I, in some small way, can contribute to making a difference to the safety on the road network and assist clients in achieving their goals, acquiring the skills necessary to remain safe and efficient for their time spent on the roads and enjoy the freedom and rewards that privilege offers.

I came to Learn Driving UK as I'd heard so many positive things said by friends at school. They all passed first time, each had different Instructors too! I was still very nervous about the prospect of being out there on the road but was made to feel very at ease and I knew I was in safe hands. The teaching methods were spot on and I really appreciated the patience they showed me on more than one occasion. I got through my test first time too. I'm just sad to have to say goodbye to my instructor. They become a friend as you work through the process, which makes it feel more enjoyable. Thank you Learn Driving UK, you were brilliant! Yes, I would recommend Learn Driving UK
