Learning to Drive with Anxiety

Anxiety is a debilitating condition and here at Learn Driving UK we understand how this can affect your ability to learn to drive. At some point, anxiety, and stress affect everyone. They can manifest differently in different people, and the level of anxiety one experiences can vary, but there is one thing for certain, there are ways to manage anxiety, even if it feels out of control.

Do you suffer from any of the following?

Common anxiety signs and symptoms include:

  • Feeling nervous, restless, or tense.
  • Having a sense of impending danger, panic, or doom.
  • Having an increased heart rate.
  • Breathing rapidly (hyperventilation).
  • Sweating.
  • Trembling.
  • Feeling weak or tired.
  • Trouble concentrating or thinking about anything other than the present worry.

All Learn Driving UK instructors are patient and calm with their students. One LDUK instructor in particular, Joe Wharton, has gone one step further and become a specialist in dealing with students who suffer with anxiety.

If you suffer from extreme anxiety Joe is here to help you. Some of Joe’s best driving test passes have been students who suffer from anxiety and thought they would never get behind the wheel, never mind pass their driving test.

Building trust in your instructor is very important. Joe will speak to you about your needs and between you will come up with a plan to help you learn to drive, building your confidence and keeping you safe on today’s busy roads.

If you would like a no obligation, confidential chat with Joe, please get in touch.

We look forward to helping you reach your driving goals.
