Pre-Paid Driving Lessons: All driving instructors are self-employed once your lessons are booked your contract is with your driving instructor.

Pre-paid lessons should be taken on a weekly basis. Block bookings cannot be split (time gap between lessons no longer than 3 weeks) and must be completed consecutively. Any gaps in your lessons longer than three weeks, without first discussing with your instructor, will be lost.

If your instructor does not hear from you for more than three weeks and you do not respond to any of their messages, your place and pre-paid lessons will be lost. Please take your driving course seriously.

If you prefer to pay as you go, you will need to request this direct with your driving instructor:

If pre-pay deals are not completed before you pass the practical test with us, any unused training time will be re-calculated at the normal lesson rate for your area and the remainder refunded accordingly.

Please be on time for your lessons. Your instructor will only wait up to 15 minutes! Once your instructor has left your area, he/she cannot return and your fee for that lesson will be lost.

*Please note, all our driving lessons are non-refundable after a period of three months. Gift vouchers expire after 3 months. Gift vouchers are non-refundable and non-transferrable. The voucher can only be used by the person named on the voucher and cannot be passed to any other person or family member. Lessons must be completed within 6 months of purchase of the Gift Voucher.

Your lesson will be cancelled, and your fee will be lost if your driving instructor feels you are under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medication, or any substance that leaves you unfit to drive. Your safety and theirs is of the utmost importance and it is illegal to drive under the influence of any of the above substances.

Lessons cancelled at short notice or missed for whatever reason (48hrs before lesson start time) will require payment in full. This also applies to any reason associated with COVID 19. If you are asked to self-isolate and you are unable to inform your instructor within the 48 hours’ notice required, you will be charged for your lesson. It is your responsibility to check times and dates of lessons.

Booking your driving test: Your driving instructor will advise you when it is best to book your test. Please do not book your driving test without his or her advice. If you book your driving test without your instructor’s knowledge, or your instructor feels you are not ready for test, you will be asked to change your test date in good time so that you do not lose your test fee. We completely understand that this can be annoying and frustrating for you, but your driving instructor has your best interest at heart.

Hire of the driving school car for use during the practical test will be charged at the normal lesson rate. Your driving instructor reserves the right to withhold the use of the driving school car for practical test, if in her/his opinion your chances of passing your test are unrealistic.

Practical Test – Cancellation: In the event of the driving school car being unavailable on the day of the practical test for reasons of illness on the instructor’s part, or for reasons of mechanical failure, we will try our best to allocate another Learn Driving UK driving instructor. If this is not possible, your instructor will refund test fees incurred by you in full unless plenty of notice has been given for you to change your test date.

In the event of the practical test being cancelled by the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency, it is normal practice for the test fee to be refunded by them. However, lessons booked on the day will be subject to the 48 hours’ late notice cancellation and will require payment. (Some of these fees can normally be claimed back from the D.V.S.A).

Complaints Procedures: In the event of a complaint, it is best that all efforts to resolve the problem are made directly with your LDUK instructor. Please call the LDUK office and ask to speak to our customer services manager for help and advice on 07989 133367.
